Xenophobic Attacks

When South Africans started migrating abroad they built up a reputation for being hard, dedicated and reliable workers. One of the reasons for this can be attributed to the fact that they knew they where outside of their comfort zone and in another country. Nothing was given to them and they knew they had to work hard to progress as the same opportunities was not in South Africa due to AA and BEE

Now we see the same thing happening in South Africa but with a twist. Foreign Nationals from all over Africa migrate to South Africa to benefit from it’s wealth and economic growth. South Africans, not most or all but a large percentage, believe they are entitled to a job and they don’t’ need to work hard to keep their job. This trend opened the door for Foreign Nationals to prosper in South Africa.

Thomas Holder, an EWN multimedia producer interviewed a few foreign nationals.
“Thomas Holder: Foreign nationals say that they are targeted because they are hard workers, and prosper as a result. They say South Africans are jealous of their success, and should rather work with them in order to learn valuable skills.”
