I am sure you are all familiar with the taste of warm bread and spreading butter on it while it is warm.. This is such an easy recipe, you can sprinkle the bread with anything you like before baking. Try this recipe you won’t be disappointed.
Ingredients:
2 Cups nutty wheat.
2 Cups baking flour.
2 Teaspoons baking soda. (koeksoda)
½ Teaspoon salt.
500g Cheese cut in small cubes.
500ml Buttermilk.
You will need a small loaf tin.
Method:
Pre-heat oven at 180C
Sift flour and salt together in a mixing bowl with the baking soda and add the nutty wheat. Stir in the buttermilk and cheese. You can add a little water if the dough is too dry. Mix until all the flour has been moistened and the dough forms a cohesive mass.
Transfer the dough to a small loaf tin, you can sprinkle with seeds and Maldon salt if you wish, and place in the pre-heated oven.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 180degrees for 1 hour.
Test with a skewer after about one hour when the top is golden brown – if the skewer comes out clean, remove from oven. Serve with plenty of butter.
