Ingredients:
- 500ml Cake flour
- 125ml Butter or margarine
- 2ml Salt
- 20ml Baking powder
- 1 Teaspoon vinegar (to take away the taste of baking powder)
- 1 Tablespoon Chilli Flakes
- 2 Tablespoons dried onion flakes to sprinkle
- Water
- 1 Egg
Method:
Preheat oven to 220°C.
- Lightly grease a muffin tray if necessary.
- Sift the flour, salt and baking powder in a large bowl.
- Using your fingertips, rub butter into flour until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Make a well in the centre.
- Beat the egg in a cup (250ml) then fill up with water. Add the vinegar, chilli flakes and pour in the flour.
- Carefully mix this until all the flour is covered. Do not over mix.
- In the prepared muffin tray, spoon mixture into the muffin cups.
- Sprinkle the onions flakes on top.
Place in oven for 12 minutes
