One night in Bangkok is not enough. We added 12 hours and spent time with some of the South Africans living in the Thai capital. Thais call it Krung Thep – Bangkok is only used by foreigners. The Thai name for Bangkok holds the world record for the longest city name. Thais revere their king and capital and this is tangible. Bangkok is a city of contrasts. The WWF sent 1600 paper pandas on a world tour to raise awareness and funds for the conservation of the estimated 1600 real pandas left in the wild.
