Social media users are hot under the collar for Netflix’s new series Sex/Life which navigates the life of a ‘happily’ married housewife going through a crisis after her second child. The crisis is her hot ex-boyfriend who she had passionate, earth-shattering, sex with – who she can’t stop thinking about.
The lead character, Billie Connell played by Sarah Shahi, grapples with the tough choice of staying in suburbia in Connecticut or exploring her fantasies again back in New York where she had the time of her life with her ex Brad – a record producer.
The other dilemma is her kind, considerate, perfect, gorgeous husband Cooper who has gifted her with a life some women can only dream of having. He is loyal, a great father and a good provider, but their sex life has gone out the window after two children, and will never compete with the deep, intense relationship she shared with Brad.
Cooper has no idea about her wild child explorative ways from her past, so when he reads her personal journal detailing the intimate moments of her time with Brad, it floors him. Being the good husband that he is, instead of losing his mind, he tries to spice up their sex life but it doesn’t end well.
Choices, choices! Will it be Brad, will it be Cooper?
The series Sex/Life is based on novel written by BB Easton called 44 Chapters About 4 Men which flutters between the present and the past. Billie spirals down a reckless road flooded with memories of booze, clubs, dancing, sex and bad-boy Brad. It threatens her mundane life and she can’t seem to stop herself. It is also very explicit.
Social media users are torn between Brad and Cooper, and they are very invested in Billie’s bad decisions.
