Just Jinjer Interview

You guys have come far since you formed in South Africa in 1996. To what do you attribute your award winning formula?

Perseverance, talent, sacrifice and belief.

With thousands of fans all over the world, do you get the time to play gigs at home in SA?

Every December we come home for a tour, if we can help it.

What has been your most outstanding performance to date?

Impossible to say. There are so many factors. They’re all unique and we feel blessed to do what we do well.

How often did the Americans confuse the pronunciation of your name before you changed the spelling?

More often than not unfortunately, but they weren’t the first. The Germans and the Australians did it too when we were there.

Who parties the best? South Africans or Americans?

Not even a close call there… SA beats anybody!

Where do you see Just Jinjer in ten years time?

Continuously producing relevant and timeless music and putting on bigger shows for the fans around the world.

Which song from “All Comes Around” do you always play at every gig?

Shallow Waters

There are many South Africans who now live all over the world. Do you have a message for them?

We go back home every year and see such positive change. Try and stay in touch with your roots, it’s who we all are and it’s beautiful. Just Jinjer is very proudly South African!
