From singing in church all her life, to mixing Afro pop with house and a little bit of gospel, her successful debut album ‘TKO’ to her third album, and various collaborations with local and international singers, Kelly is now ready to turn her life into a movie. The film is in pre-production and will be a ‘rise to riches’ account of her life from a young age to where she is today in her music and acting career. It is planned to be released in South Africa mid next year.
When I hear that an artist is moving into acting, it doesn’t even surprise me anymore. However, only a few of them have managed to make their own movie. That is the challenge Kelly Khumalo will be facing ê making her own movie, and playing herself.
