Byron Clarke
Blessed with an amazing vocal talent, and growing up in a musical family, Byron was very involved in musical events and choirs in his community, all the while strengthening his musical ability and knowledge. Byron credits his mother, a music teacher and opera conductor as well as other talented local music legends as his musical influences and his sources of inspiration.
Byron has just released his debut album ‘Self Inflicted’ with StereoType Records. Co-written by Lester Hein and Chad Saaiman with production duties handled by Ebrahim Mallum, the album is out now on StereoType Records. ‘Self Inflicted’ was nominated for Best R&B/Neo Soul album at the 16th Annual South African Music Awards this year!
Chad Saaiman
One of South Africa’s most intimate and talented vocal discovery in years. A soulful and sensual singer and songwiter who stems from the city of Cape Town.
Drawing from strong musical influences such as Maxwell, John Legend, John Lennon,John Mayer and Stevie Wonder, Chad is at home in Soul music while being capable and comfortable across other musical styles as his debut album ‘Chasing Melodies’ proved. This very album was nominated for Best Pop Album at the 2009 SAMAs. He also executively produced and co-wrote Byron Clarke’s ‘Self-Inflicted’ album which was nominated for Best R&B/Neo Soul album at the 2010 SAMAs.
Chad was also winner of the Best Performing Artist at the 2008 Good Hope FM Best of Cape Town Awards, has written just under 20 songs playlisted on SA radio and also written for and with artists such as Loyiso, Danny K and Byron Clarke just to mention a few.
He has also appeared on numerous TV shows such as Top Billing, Pasella and Sportsnite, and most recently he appeared in Cosmopolitan’s sexiest men of 2010 calendar.
