As a vocal band, all their music is recorded and performed live without the use of instruments. Overtone most recently performed music for the soundtrack of Clint Eastwood’s Invictus, the movie about the 1995 Rugby World Cup. They were an almost unknown group at the time when they were discovered by Eastwood’s wife.
Overtone’s repertoire is current and diverse in styles, ranging from adult contemporary to pop rock, reggae and R&B. With two albums released they have enjoyed national and regional radio play. Breaking traditional a cappella boundaries with their musical wit and vocal arrangements they are set to breathe in new life and spirit into the South African music industry.
