Severe Weather Alerts
IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
- A Yellow Warning (Level 2) for heavy rain resulting in localised flooding is expected over Saldanha Bay and Swartland Municipalities (West Coast), the Cape Metropole, Cape Winelands and the western parts of the Overberg Districts.
- A Yellow Warning (Level 2) for wind over the interior resulting in some disruptions to road transport, localized damages to some settlements as well as localized problems to high-sided vehicles is expected over the southern High ground of the Northern Cape, the central and northern parts of the Western Cape as well as the western and northern parts of the Eastern Cape.
- A Yellow Warning (Level 2) for wind along the coast between Lamberts Bay to Cape Agulhas, spreading to Plettenberg Bay by the evening.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
- Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the western and northern parts of the Eastern Cape, eastern parts of the Northern Cape as well as the western parts of the Free State and North West.

Temperature: Fine and cool but warm to hot in the Lowveld.
Limpopo:
Temperature: Fine and warm but cool over the central parts.
North-West Province:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon.
Free State:
Temperature: Fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy.
Northern Cape:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to warm, becoming cloudy from the afternoon with isolated rain and showers in the south.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be light south-easterly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh westerly to north-westerly.
Western Cape:
Temperature: Cloudy and cold to cool with isolated to scattered showers and rain but widespread in the south west.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north westerly reaching gale between Cape Point and Cape Agulhas at times.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.
Eastern Cape:
The Western half – Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to warm and windy. It will become cloudy with isolated showers and rain from the afternoon, but scattered along the coast.
The Western half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly, becoming fresh to strong south westerly in the afternoon.
The Eastern half – Temperature: Partly cloudy and cool to warm and windy with isolated afternoon showers in places in the north and west.
The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north easterly in the north, otherwise north westerly, becoming fresh to strong south westerly from the south in the afternoon.
Kwazulu-Natal:
Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm but cool in the south-west.
Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly but fresh in the north, becoming south-westerly in the south towards evening.
