National Prosecuting Authority spokeswoman Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said that Zama Bongiwe Madlala pleaded guilty on Monday morning in the Pietermaritzburg Regional Court.
Africa News Agency reports the case against Madlala, who is currently under house arrest, was postponed to February 29 for the compilation of necessary reports needed for sentencing to be completed. Madlala was arrested after police were tipped off. She had, earlier this year advertised her 19-month old baby for sale for R5,000 on Gumtree, an online classifieds and community website.
