The SABC reported that the correctional supervision and parole board turned down het request to convert her prison sentence to correctional supervision. She is serving a seven-year jail term for indecently assaulting young girls and women, for the manufacture and possession of child pornography, and for defrauding a children’s home.
She started serving her sentence in May 2010 after the Supreme Court of Appeal dismissed an application for leave to appeal. Visser brought a review application in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria after the parole board found, in August, that she was not a suitable candidate for the conversion of her sentence into correctional supervision.
Visser was the former girlfriend of advocate Dirk Prinsloo who disappeared from South Africa when similar charges were brought against him. Prinsloo has been in custody in Belarus since his arrest in June 2009 after an alleged attempted bank robbery in Baranovichi. This happened four years after he skipped bail in his South African trial with Visser.
After learning that Visser was found guilty more than three years ago, Prinsloo wrote from prison: “Cezanne is just a good person who chose to try and survive at all costs, no matter on whom she may have to step, or how much she may have to humiliate herself. “She was also influenced to adopt her crazy ‘defence’ by her friends, mother and opportunistic and greedy lawyers.”
He said she was “an amazing person” Clearly the parole board does not agree with him.
