AfriForum says ‘#do-it-yourself’ as they start filling potholes

If the government can't, we can. That's the attitude of AfriForum who today - 13 May, 2006 - started repairing 93,12 m2 of potholes in the streets of Gezina, Rietfontein and Villiera at a cost of R50,000.

AfriForum says ‘#do-it-yourself’ as they start filling potholes

This is only one of the projects that AfriForum launched as part of the organisation’s #do-it-yourself initiative and forms part of the organisation’s national pothole month that kicked off earlier this month.

The plan is to spent R250,000 repairing potholes in Pretoria alone.

“We must become less dependent on Government and rather be self-sufficient,” said Tarien Cooks, AfriForum’s Provincial Coordinator for Gauteng North.

If you want to become involved at your local AfriForum branch to fix potholes – GAT is he antwoord. Send the word GAT by SMS to 45341 (R1) or send an email to pretoria@afriforum.co.za.
