‘Agro’ Tutu loses Twitter account

This is a laugh. Despite being one of the world's most famous campaigners for peace, Desmond Tutu's twitter account has been suspended for being too 'aggressive'.

‘Agro’ Tutu loses Twitter account

Only hours after launching the @TutuLegacy page, the account was blocked for ‘aggressive following’ behaviour. Our man of the cloth started following the likes of Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and the Dalai Lama before being branded ‘aggressive’.

Tutu’s Legacy Foundation said in a statement: ‘Twitter has not explained how following 30 people could be construed as “aggressive following” or whether the number of people who followed @TutuLegacy in a short space of time was to blame.’

The UK’s Metro newspaper reported the Nobel peace prize winner’s very first tweet was: ‘In an ode to the words spoken by Mandela when he retired from public life: “I am elderly and decrepit. Don’t tweet me; I’ll tweet you!”‘

His daughter Mpho later pleaded: ‘I hope the powers that be at Twitter find it in their hearts to fix the problem and let us communicate again.’

Apparently the “mistake” has now been rectified.
