Ash Barty has remained a tennis star for so long that she has many commended her for her achievements. In an Instagram post, Barty explained that she did not know how to share the news.
The long-time great has ended her career with the Australian Open by winning a trophy for a singles match. Previously, Ash Barty was ranked number 1 in the world for approximately 122 days in a row.

Right now, her reasoning comes as she seeks to do something more fulfilling with her life. Ash explained that tennis has given her so much so far and that she intends to do much more with her life after this chapter has closed.

After many years of investing herself in tennis, Ash Barty has found that she wants to do more with her life and explore other avenues in terms of her career. Thus far, things are looking quite bright for her.

At the age of 18, Ash Barty had already paved the way for her career until now. According to ABC News, the phenomenal tennis player shared the news via an interview on her Instagram.

While Ash did make the decision to retire, she said it was quite a difficult decision to make but had altogether decided that it was the best decision to make at this time.
“I’ll never, ever, ever stop loving tennis, it’ll always be a massive part of my life. But now I think it’s important that I get to enjoy the next phase of my life as Ash the person, not Ash Barty the athlete.”
