During this time, Ashley Oosthuizen is able to video call with her close relatives once a month. In a letter written by her boyfriend, Ashley reportedly received a package delivered to her while she was working. This turned out to be drugs and she has since been arrested for international drug trafficking.
After her arrest, she was reportedly taken in for questioning. She was also threatened while she was without a lawyer. The questioning took place in a black dungeon as relayed by her boyfriend at the time. Thereafter, she was given a letter that was written in Thai which was later understood to be a confession letter.
Right now, Ashley Oosthuizen’s family is working hard to get her out of prison and hopes to appeal her case. This can, however, take up to 18 months.
