A family spokesman is quoted by both Netwerk24 and The Cape Times newspaper who said Marli (pictured) and Henri van Breda, who survived a brutal axe attack at their home, were “elated” to see each other for the first time in almost five months.
Marli, who is 16, and Henri, 20, were the only survivors of the attack in January. Their parents, Martin, 55, and Teresa, 54, and brother Rudi, 22, dies at the scene of the attack in their upmarked security golf estate.
Marli, who suffered head trauma and a severed jugular vein, also went back to school recently after being released from a rehabilitation centre and she is reportedly doing “extremely well”.
The Cape Times quotes a family spokesman Ben Rootman who confirmed she met Henri, who walked away from the attack with a couple of scratches.
Rootman previously said Marli had suffered retrograde amnesia, but could walk, communicate well and had retained her sense of humour.
