The 21-year old handed himself over to police on Monday afternoon after reports reach him that he would be arrested. He was charged with three counts of murder 18 months after his father Martin van Breda, mother Teresa, and his brother Rudi were murdered in their home in the upmarket De Zalze Golf Estate.
Henri’s sister, Marli, survived the attack with serious head injuries. It is said she suffers from amnesia. Henri suffered scratches.
Van Breda may not leave the Western Cape, not be within 500m of any port of entry and should also hand in travel documents. He needs to report to the Parow police station between 8am and 8pm on Mondays and Fridays.
The case has been transferred to the Western Cape High Court where he will appear on September 9.
