Describe a typical day?
The mornings are spent either running one of my camps with one of my PT’s or I still train a few clients who wont let me go! The rest of the day is in the office developing Fit Camp, which is growing by the day!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love to see people re-gain their confidence about their shape. We are so focused in society on how we look, and rightly or wrongly we are unlikely to change that, so how you feel about yourself can be very important. It isn’t about being stick thin, but you can be bigger but toned and have a feeling of health and strength that comes from working out.
What motivates you to exercise?
I am someone that needs a goal. In January I entered the World Masters (over 35) Heptathlon in Finland. Over 80 countries and 6,000 athletes attend so it is reasonably well contested especially in my age range. The focus of training for seven events was very good and forced me out on many a rainy night! It paid off as I was fortunate enough to bring home gold! I now have to find another challenge!
How do you inspire others to exercise?
Hopefully, by leading by example and saying no matter if you have kids, (I have three), if you work (I do) that you can do it and it is never too late!
What tips would you give to someone starting an exercise regime?
Do not over commit, nor under commit! Its no use going from nothing to thinking you can do five days a week, and also no use being over careful and committing to one time a week as you wont see any results! Start with a friend or in a group, as you will feel more committed not to let your friend down than yourself, strange creatures that we are!
