The journal Art Times reports the idiotic bunch of rioting students of the ‘Rhodes Must Fall’ movement destroyed the work of black artist Baholo when they attacked ‘colonial’ paintings hung on the walls of the university’s buildings.
Baholo studied at Michaelis School of Art in the 90’s. He faced great financial hardships battling against alcohol and financial hardships, living away from his home in Limpopo painting anti-apartheid artworks. UCT offered him an apartment for free and went on to buy many of his paintings to support him.
Now the paintings are gone, thanks to idiots who think they can destroy the past to build their idea of a future.
Meanwhile, at the other poor academic institution – the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) – a group of similar idiots have embarked on a campaign against white people‚ spraying “fuck-you” graffiti on T-shirts and walls across campus.
The Rand Daily Mail reports the university’s leadership has urged staff‚ students and alumni to oppose the “hurtful” initiative by saying #NotInOurName.
“Students are fed up with whiteness!‚” Simamkele Dlakavu @simamkeleD said via Twitter‚ sharing photos of the protesters. The campaign‚ the WitsFeesMustFall @WitsFMF movement says‚ is in solidarity with a student who is scheduled to appear before the Human Rights Commission on Wednesday for wearing a T-shirt that had the words “Fuck White People” painted on the back.
