Jacob Zuma has been notoriously known for his corruption charges over the past few years. Presently, he is set to appear in court to appeal the latter charges against him. On the other hand, his lawyer claims that Jacob Zuma is being treated as a special case.

Jacob Zuma case treated differently to others

The lawyer claims that the former president’s case is being treated with care and is a bit out of the ordinary. He added that this needs to be addressed as he should be no different from anybody else.

According to News24, the procedure adopted in Zuma’s leave to appeal application was “irregular and out of the ordinary” because the judge allowed the State to file an answer to the former president’s case.

Zuma has not been cross-examined

So, up until now, Jacob Zuma has never been cross-examined regarding all of the charges he is facing. According to the lawyer, this is something irregular and should not go unnoticed. He added that everyone should be equal before the law and that the way Jacob Zuma was and is being treated is entirely different.

Thus far, Jacob Zuma faces 16 charges involving racketeering and money laundering. He allegedly had been receiving a 500, 000 rand bribe from one of his colleagues per year as well.

In Jacob Zuma’s plea so far, he asked that one of his lawyers be removed from his case. He thought that the lawyer was doing the case for his own personal gain. This has since been declined and Mpofu claims that this is an instance of his case being treated differently
