Unsuspecting applicants apply for these positions and are then offered employment with very advantageous fringe benefits and excellent salaries.
As soon as the applicant accept the excellent job offer, they are being requested to provide their bank details and other personal details, or are asked to pay over fees for the supposed permit that needs to be arranged.
Persons then find that money is gone from the bank account they provided and in the case where they have paid monies over for the permit or whatever other reason was given, they never hear again from the supposed employer.
Please be careful not to fall in their trap by following these caveats:
- If a job is offered to you at a known hotel group or other employer, try to do your own research by obtaining the contact number of the employer where the job is being offered through an internet search. Do not use the number provided to you on the documents sent to you. Speak to the HR manager and confirm whether they have indeed posted the job advertisement, and that the job has indeed been offered to you.
- Be wary if a job is being offered to you and no formal job interview took place.
- Be wary if you are asked to pay over any monies for UK Home Office fees. Application fees for entry clearance will not be paid by the employer, but by the applicant directly to the UK Home Office.
- In fact, be wary if you are asked to pay over any monies!
- Never provide any personal contact details such as your bank account details.
- If you are unsure or wary for any reason, rather contact Breytenbachs Immigration Consultants to check out the situation for you and advise you on the matter.
