A bunch of clever dick doctors at the University of Stellenbosch successfully transplanted a human penis several months ago and yesterday they announced that the patient has fathered a child.
The 21-year-old patient’s penis was amputated three years ago when he got gangrene in his penis after a traditional circumcision went bad.
Stellenbosch University urology professor Andre van der Merwe led a surgical team who transplanted a penis onto the man. The patient soon surprised the team with his active libido only three months after surgery. Now they are all excited with his ability to have children.
Van der Merwe is quoted by The Times in South Africa as saying: “The patient told me his girlfriend is [expecting], but I will be confirming with him tomorrow [today].”
He received a new penis at Tygerberg Hospital near Cape Town. A full statement is to be released today.
