The snow has arrived, in sprinklings in some areas of South Africa and more coverage in parts of Lesotho. Afriski Mountain Resort recorded a heavy downfall since Tuesday, June 1 – and the snow covered the resort on Wednesday too.
Champagne’s Castle Sports Resort also posted images of the snow-capped Drakensberg range – a marvellous sight to behold.
Temperatures remained below freezing in many parts of the Drakensberg, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Lesotho. Drivers were cautioned about the slippery roads in and around Afriski Mountain Resort: “ROAD UPDATE: Roads are still closed to 2×4 vehicles. If you’re traveling in a 4×4, please do so with extreme caution.”
