Public Holidays in South Africa will be more than 2021s holidays. Since New Years Day could be celebrated under relaxed conditions, it’s safe to say that we are finally coming back to some normalcy.
According to the Public Holidays Act, whenever a holiday falls on a weekend, that holiday will fall on the next working day. This essentially means that South African’s will get an extra holiday day in 2022.
So, we could all do with a little bit of good news and that means we can finally get a little bit of a break this year after being so to speak caged in our homes for almost two years.
Now, the public holidays for 2022 are as follows:
1 January – New Years Day
21 March – Human Rights Day
15 April – Good Friday
18 April – Family Day
27 April – Freedom Day
1 May – Workers Day
2 May – Public Holiday For Workers Day Observed
16 June – Youth Day
9 August – National Woman’s Day
24 September – Heritage Day
16 December – Day of Reconciliation
25 December – Christmas Day
26 December – Day of Goodwill
While the public holidays can sometimes affect working productivity, they can help mitigate situations of feeling fatigued among workers. So it can be both a good and a bad thing.
