Celebrated Springbok player and rugby union coach Rassie Erasmus says he’s had enough of SA Rugby and its shenanigans and will now take up a position with Irish club Munster.
The Afrikaans Sunday rag Rapport quotes Erasmus as saying he will leave his post as SA Rugby’s general manager of high performance after the Springboks’ June Test series against Ireland. He has already informed SARU CEO Jurie Roux about his decision last week.
It’s long been reported that there is a strained relationship between Erasmus and SARU president Oregan Hoskins. Erasmus has been living with this for a couple of years. Yet, hom not being offered the position as Springbok head coach could have broken the camel’s back. Allister Coetzee got the job.
Rapport says they have “sources” saying Erasmus wanted to be coach. No shit Sherlock! That’s stating the bleeding obvious.
Erasmus currently heads up SA Rugby’s coaching mobi-unit, and it’s also reported that highly rated defence guru Jacques Nienaber could follow him to Ireland.
