This time parliament has been suspended – again – after the Economic Freedom Fighters raised a point of order about president Jacob Zuma’s love pad at Nkandla.
Times Live reports Economic Freedom Fighters’ Mbuyiseni Ndlozi demanded that Jacob Zuma rise and provide members with details of how and when he is going to pay back a portion of millions spent on improvements at his private Nkandla homestead. He then accused Zuma of making a mockery of his questions and answers sessions.
“He ridicules us, he must tell us when he must pay back the money, date and time,” said Ndlozi adding that the ruling party MPs on the other side “laugh like it’s the Trevor Noah show.”
When ANC chief whip Stone Sizani rose to speak EFF leader Julius Malema (pictured above) objected and they started to have a real go at each other.
“You are not special,” referring to Sizani. “We stand up as the EFF and we are not allowed to speak but he (Sizani) just stands up and is allowed to speak. Is he special, he is not special,” Malema said.
Amid the chaos proceedings were suspended.
