Stellenbosch University is currently investigating an incident that occurred in a black student’s dorm room over the weekend.

In the video footage taken by the victim shows a white student urinating over his laptop, books, and other belongings. The student also asks why he is doing this when the other student mumbles a reply.
Right now, many Stellenbosch students have shared their frustration with the racially motivated attack on the black student.
Thus far, the student who has been identified as Theuns Du Toit. He is currently suspended pending an investigation by the University.

Overall, students at Stellenbosch University feel that Du Toit needs to be expelled instead of suspended. He has since been removed from the residence where the attack took place.

Since the incident, Stellenbosch University has responded to the news and said that they have acted swiftly regarding the matter as it is now being investigated.
“We acted swiftly and decisively to uphold our commitment to a culture of inclusivity. What happened at Huis Marais is not acceptable. No student has the right to diminish another student’s human dignity or rights in this way,”

Previously, it was shared that the student said “this is what we do to black students” while he was urinating on the student’s belongings. Right now, a petition is going around to expel the student who committed this act.
According to News24, students at Stellenbosch University were very upset on Monday morning and demanded answers as well as serious repercussions for Theuns who damaged the other student’s belongings.
