Good news for expats this week is that the new double-decker A380 Airbus recently delivered to British Airways at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 will be designated to flights between London and Johannesburg. These are great aircraft. With BA’s pricing being extremely competitive, we really don’t have to look at SAA anymore for our home holidays. In fact, we actively discourage supporting SAA as this airline is openly racist by its own admission telling the world that it will not consider any white males to be trained as cadet pilots.

And still with good news. Saffas are always after the best deals. If it’s a low-cost pint you are after, stick to Wetherspoons who this week registered another rise in sales by 3.5 percent. You can hardly turn a corner in London without bumping into a Wetherspoons and we will take you to task if you can find a better breakfast deal of burger and beer combo.

Facing the music
Last but not least… more good news: Shrien Dewani will be extradited to South Africa to stand trial for the murder of his wife, a UK court ruled on Wednesday. A Westminister Magistrate’s Court judge said in his ruling that the risk of Shrien Dewani committing suicide if extradited to South Africa have diminished and Dewani would receive medical care there. We all know the background to this story. It’s a ruling that was made at least two years late, but better late than never. Let him face the music. We are not saying he is guilty, but now at least he can prove his innocence – should he be.
