Reacting to the allegations that Zuma was recently in Duba on a personal visit to take money to his wealthy friend the presidency said they reject the “preposterous and malicious allegation’.
Malema told reporters at a press conference following the Constitutional Court judgment that ruled that Zuma will have to pay back the taxpayers’ money spent on his private homestead and Nkandla, that Zuma went to Dubai on “some unexplained trip” because he would not be searched by customs and left with bags of money “to be dumped in Dubai. That is where they are dumping our money with the Guptas.”
But the presidency says Malema’s allegation has no basis in fact. ““Malema’s malicious allegations are both untruthful and defamatory. The Presidency reserves its rights in this regard.”
They say Zuma “recently concluded successful visits to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations between South Africa and the two countries, respectively”.
