Does heroic cash-in-transit driver Leo Prinsloo look familiar?

The viral-video of a foiled cash-in-transit heist, and the driver calmly handling the situation with his precision driving skills – while being shot at and rammed by another vehicle – has gathered attention globally.

The incident unfolded on Thursday, 22 April along the N4 highway in Pretoria – and the dramatic footage has highlighted the height of crime in South Africa, especially on cash-in-transit vehicles. The driver has since been identified as Leo Prinsloo (48, a former SAPS sniper.

In true South African style, we meme to make light of a heavy situation – and if you thought the driver looked vaguely familiar, it’s because he closely resembles Agent Smith from The Matrix trilogy.

Leo Prinsloo does not use spell check. If he happens to misspell a word, Oxford will change the spelling. #LeoPrinsloo pic.twitter.com/ju9yJ1VS1O

Even Chuck Norris was roped in.
What would a meme be without Liam Neeson?

In the three minute clip, Prinsloo is seen remaining calm while the armoured Land Cruiser he is driving is rammed off the road and shot at continously.

He instructs the driver to contact ‘Robbie’ for assistance, and manages to veer the vehicle out of harm’s way. No arrests have been made and the case is still under investigation.
