The Fenced in Lodge sleeps up to 16 adults, in African themed en-suite rooms and with a choice of Fully Catered or Self catering options, mean this lodge truly is great value for money for a family getaway.
The main Lodge has three double en-suite rooms, and Behind the Lodge are 4 double en-suite rooms, and also offered is an Additional Cottage adjacent to the house which can sleep 4 it has its own kitchen, bathroom and dining area.
Myself and my family stayed for 7 nights from 26 December – 02 January, and we were 14 adults and 4 children, we loved our stay so much we didn’t want to leave.
Heidi Rust and Chris Bortslap and their team are just brilliant, and cater to you every need with nothing being too much trouble. Heidi and Chris manage the lodge as well as being the knowledgeable rangers who take you on the game drives.
Most of your time will be spent lounging around the Thatched Lapa and sparkling Blue pool, that’s if you aren’t on a game drive or eating one of the three meals offered on the fully catered option – Brunch, High Tea or the Gourmet dinners. Days are spent in the sun relaxing with family and friends, whilst playing family activities in the huge surrounding gardens.
Evenings are spent around the fire pit reminiscing over the days game drives and sightings. Game drives are 3 hours long from 6 – 9 am and 4 – 7 pm daily and the sightings are really amazing, Cheetahs on the plains, Hyenas roaming the roads, never mind the game you’ll see whilst relaxing around the Lapa, if an African Safari is your ideal holiday then this is the place for you, family and friends.
The Lodge also features a lounge / dining area with TV and DSTV should you want to catch up on sports, news or Disney channel. It feature three large couches, fire place, TV, and cabinets filled with books to read at your leisure.
There are quite a few waterfalls on the reserve and Nambiti Falls offers a picnic lunch out at one of the waterfall sights, Children and adults alike enjoy this day out.
New years was a Hawaiian themed night with the lodge and staff going out of their way to make the pool and lapa area as beach like as possible. Punch was offered from the Hawaiian Bar, Palm trees paved the entrance way to the lapa, and sand and shells decorated the tables. Fun was had by all, so any ideas you would like you can ask Nambiti falls and they make it come true.s
