Latest Sightings posted a picture of a monkey hitching a ride on an elephant’s trunk during the recent floods in the Kruger National Park.
The post read: With the recent floods, land animals have been distraught. I saw this monkey being stranded on the wrong side of the river for days now. This morning, though, an elephant also saw this and gave the monkey a ride to the other side where the family was still waiting! This was so so special

And while the animal kingdom is indeed very resilient and the Kruger National Park did suffer flooding due to downpours in the area – the only monkey in this post is you, if you believed it was true.
On closer inspection of the photo, you can see the monkey is clearly photoshopped onto the trunk.
One reader said many had been caught by the elaborate April Fool’s joke, another wrote, “I had a dream about thanks to Photoshop my dream has become a reality”.
