FlySafair is going international – on Tuesday the local airline announced a brand new route to the magical island of Mauritius starting in December.
Flights officially take off from OR Tambo International Airport to the island on 11 December 2021, twice a week. The airline shared its good news via its social media channels.
“You can’t buy happiness…but you can buy a ticket to paradise with FlySafair, and that’s pretty much the same thing. That’s right, for the first time ever, FlySafair is breaking borders, bringing our low-fares, on-time performance and excellent service beyond SA to the beautiful island of Mauritius.
“So, if crystal, clear ocean, white, sandy beaches and island style fun is what you’re looking for, book now and get a taste of palm tree paradise!” said FlySafair on Facebook.
This is the first international route for the airline and signals good news for the tourism industry.
Mauritius will fully reopen its borders to vaccinated tourists, including South Africans, on 1 October 2021 after being shut off from the world since the pandemic started. The island introduced phases of reopening since 15 July under strict conditions.
