The four chalets situated in beautiful tranquil gardens consist of twin beds which may be converted to spacious doubles, (King). The bathroom is equally spacious boasting a larger than large bath, separate shower and double basin vanity dresser.
The lodge’s Main Luxury House has three Luxury Rooms and a Honeymoon Suite, as well as a combined lounge dining room; an affluent TV lounge leading onto a lavish conference room seating up to twenty delegates. The luxury rooms are not en suite, but do have a dedicated well appointed bathroom with shower a mere two steps from the bedroom and of course the honeymoon suite is any couples dream over looking luscious gardens and the Bushveld. Off the lounge dining room is a secluded patio overlooking the gardens. There is also a stunning large fully equipped kitchen decorated in creams, gold and brown with spectacular granite table tops, and glass showcase kitchen cupboards. What exalts this house and in fact is the focal feature of the entire lodge’s public areas are the concertina sliding tinted aluminium doors which open up onto a truly magnificent elevated crystal clear outsized swimming pool of 60 square meters. Elevated yet again above the pool is the entertainment area or call it a “Vista” and quite unique to lodge design in South Africa. On the opposite side of the “Vista” one overlooks a waterhole a mere 15 meters from this expansive room. The “Vista” is a welcoming and stunning feature where sitting in the lounge sipping our drinks watching the sun set created an ambience of peaceful surroundings.
The “Vista” is open plan and consists of a charming wooden in design cocktail bar, stylish lounge, dining room and state of the art kitchen where one is able to observe the chef preparing and cooking fine food. The lodge cuisine is something to return for and the kitchen team will certainly satisfy your taste buds with their well prepared and beautifully presented cuisine. Our dinner delight started off with an organic salad of greens and reds and a very light curry squash soup, followed by a Mexican tuna bake topped with tortilla and a sprinkling of delicious cheese au gratin. Needless to say one can easily over indulge with such heavenly food and not reserve space for desert which was a combination of pancakes, mixed fresh fruit, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream.
An additional feature of this splendid room is its dual purpose capacity where it serves as a conference venue as well and yet again; state of the art audiovisual, music and sound system equipment has been installed thus serving the needs of the most discerning conference facilitator presenting from be it 1 to 40 guests.
Later as it got darker a fire was lit in the boma situated just off the “Vista” and swimming pool which is a popular gathering place to enjoy an after dinner liquor or bush coffee while gazing at the brighter star above thanks namely to the clean crisp air of the Bushveld, and we definitely did just that.
What a pleasure it was to retire to such a beautiful and comfortable bedroom, knowing that we are in such safe surroundings, protected by an armed game fence and 24 hour CCTV surveillance system. We most definitely had a peaceful sleep.
When taking breakfast, either around the pool or in the “Vista”, you can decide what you want to do for the rest of the day. Either soak up the sun around the pool, take a self drive game safari or even go bird watching. One thing is for sure, you will enjoy your stay to the fullest and know that you are being looked after by Tim the Manager and his well trained staff. Luxury at its fullest is Legodimo Game Lodge.
