Summer is around the corner which means more light hours in Cape Town and more time to hike. South African National Parks (SANParks) has clarified the opening and closing times of hiking areas and picnic sites at Table Mountain National Park so visitors are not caught off guard.
The pandemic has had an affect on the hours and in certain areas these hours will not be adjusted even though curfew hours have changed.
Currently, the gate at Cape Point opens at 7am and that will remain the same in summer too.
According to TMNP Park Manager, Frans van Rooyen, “TMNP is slowly recovering from the pandemic and we kindly request visitors to be patient with us especially with the gate opening times at Cape Point. This is not a permanent decision and things will get back to normal when it’s safe to do so. We urge Park users to respect the rules of the Park and we will keep everyone informed if there are new changes.”
