Is there a difference between pancake and waffle batter? Not really. Both recipes share most of the basic ingredients like flour, eggs and milk – but waffles have extra sugar in them. Unless you are making savoury waffles.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 2 TBS white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ cups warm milk
- ⅓ cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
In a large bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients – flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs then add in the milk, butter and vanilla. Mix dry and wet ingredients together and beat until combined. Preheat your waffle iron.
When the iron is hot enough, ladle the batter and cook the waffles until golden and crispy.
Serve with golden syrup and ice-cream, or berries and fresh cream.
