Ingredients:
- 1 Litre milk (Full cream)
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Cup sugar (250ml)
- 3 Heaped tablespoons maizena
- 3 Heaped tablespoons flour
- 1/2 Taplespoon custard powder
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla.
- 1 Packet of Tennis Biscuits
- Cinnamon sugar. (Cinnamon mixed with sugar)
Method:
- Pack Tennis Biscuits neatly on the bottom of your 2 Litre fridge tart dish.
- Beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy and light.
- Make a mixture in a cup with the mazeina, flour, custard powder, salt and vanilla with a little of the milk as not to form lumps.
- Pour milk and the butter in saucepan and bring to boil. Be careful not to burn the milk.
- Add the mazeina mixture and lastly the eggs and sugar slowly using a wisk. Place back on very very low heat and constantly mix with a whisk while you let it simmer for at least 17 minutes until thickened and completely cooked. (be careful to not let it burn)
- Pour in prepared dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. When cool place in refrigerator for 1 hour or longer.
If you prefer to make a crust for the Milk Tart, here is a easy recipe:
Crumb a packet Tennis Biscuits. Mix half a cup of sugar with 1 cup of soft butter with 1 packet of Tennis Biscuit crumbs add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and press this mixture in the bottom of your dish. Add your filling and refrigerator.
