But where do you turn amidst a country most well known for its breakfast offering of greasy fry ups in dodgy cafs?
How about a freshly blended smoothie or power-shake with all the good stuff from the wheat-grass shots to gingko biloba and ginger? For something phenomenal on the taste buds, imagine sweet mango, strawberries and pineapple blended with apple juice or yoghurt as you prefer. I wondered what colour my juice would be once blended as I stood in the queue at a fresh juice bar in Fulham…
And so it was that I first discovered Moosh, a delightful hideaway not far from the broadway. The small outside area is almost always full on summer weekends, easily spotted by the fresh pineapple décor atop the tables. And that is the main focus – everything at Moosh is fresh fresh fresh!
With a carpet of grass beneath your feet inside, and a tree at the centre of the room, its ambience is endearing, engulfing you in serenity and escapism! The room is small, as though it was not originally intended for anything more than being an amazing juice bar, but since opening in summer last year, it is now offering more substantial breakfasts too!
Grilling thick wedges of bacon and char-grilled chicken breasts on the barbeque outside, the wafts of wonderful smells are enough of a hook to stop and check it out. When served my bacon and scrambled eggs, I was smitten by the combination of thee creamiest fluffy eggs atop of the tastiest toasted brown bloomer!
My brunch date delighted in a waffle, topped with a light lemon sorbet and brimming with berries of dark blueberry hues and rich strawberry reds! A small pot of perfectly viscous Canadian Maple syrup accompanied the meal, and she savoured every mouthful!
Large cappuccinos topped off our morning hideout where we’d buried ourselves in this place of pure pleasantries. Even in a busy foot traffic area I felt so far away from reality, I think this will have to become my regular Saturday haunt for sure!
