Rhapsody’s Restaurant

You will be overwhelmed by the welcoming reception of the friendly staff and inviting decor. We were seated in the middle of it all, although any where would have been satisfactory, being five stories up on the rooftop, with a west facing view of the best sunset imaginable.

Rhapsody’s Restaurant

The restaurant can seat 100 people inside the non-smoking dining section, 60 smoking and 50 outside. The venue is suitable for wedding receptions, launches and other VIP events. You can even check your e-mail or what’s hot on the web as Rhapsody’s Zambezi is a WI FI hot-spot. The parking lot can hold 9500 vehicles inside and outside with 24 hour security.

The wine list is well stocked, very nicely arranged and you will find your favourite wine or a choice of wine to suit your food combination. We selected Van Loveren, Pinotage to go with our choice of set menu. There are not enough tongue twisters to describe the Springbok Carpaccio! Smoked Springbok, topped with parmesan shavings, celery shards and fresh rocket. My wife decided on the Curry Chicken Livers, delicious and spicy livers flavoured lightly with curry in a creamy mango chutney sauce, served with crispy bread.

The menus are full of International flavours to choose from such as; Thai green curry, coconut milk, lemon butter, peri-peri, mushroom and port, Madagascar peppercorn and cognac sauce, Indian curry sauce, artichoke hearts, basil pesto, parmesan sauce and jasmine rice. Catering ranges from set menus, buffets, A La Carte cuisine, breakfast selections and sushi. There are four different set menus which are very suitable for different occasions, parties and receptions. All menus include a vegetarian option that could easily convert you into a vegetarian.

For our main course we had the Avo & Brie Fillet. The fillet is stuffed with brie cheese, topped with avo and served on a Madagascar peppercorn and cognac cream sauce with vegetables (which was our choice) or potato wedges. Oh’s and Ah’s and ‘delicious’ is not even close to a true description of the taste, it is more like a Rhapsody of the flavours of life experience. Just like everything nice, it ends too soon.

For dessert we had the Chocolate Fudge Cake with ice cream, deliciously prepared and full of chocolate.

The most delicious experience, one cannot begin to tell you! You’ll just have to book your own journey.
