To Marky Warren and Ludre Stevens, THANK YOU!
Together we can all make a difference!
South Africans abroad and at home are all standing together against bringing back old apartheid laws but the head of the ANC London branch, Xolani Xala, seems to be blind to the blatantly obvious.
Xala said, “The people in the protest are a bunch of cowards, coming together claiming that represent all South Africans abroad. It’s opportunism, and they could have achieved their goals in other ways.” ~ as published by www.thesouthafrican.com
This is the same person who stood up organisers of the Indaba South African Business Breakfast club on a number of occasions where they make promise of supporting South Africans in business abroad but it’s all talk and no action. So to Xolani Xala, it’s about FREEDOM OF SPEECH and YOUR RIHT TO KNOW, remember that’s the same things the apartheid government deprived us of. Oh, and by the way, that’s where the K@K started with Zimbabwe and you are not Julius Malema so please think before you call fellow South Africans “a bunch of cowards”.

The head of the African National Congress London branch has heavily criticised those who took part in a protest against the Protection Of Information Bill.
Xolani Xala lambasted both the protestors and the organisers, which included the Democratic Alliance Abroad. Just over 100 people gathered outside South Africa House in London on Saturday to protest the controversial bill, nicknamed the Secrecy Bill, which was passed in Parliament two weeks ago.
Xala said, “The people in the protest are a bunch of cowards, coming together claiming that represent all South Africans abroad. It’s opportunism, and they could have achieved their goals in other ways.”
“The way forward is to create a platform in which South Africans at large can engage in a robust discussion. The march was for the DA seeking attention not for South Africans but it’s typical of [DA leader Helen] Zille. If the DA wants to respond, let them come to a dialogue. South Africans do have the right to protest, and we have earned that right, but to march without giving notice to the ANC London Branch is an act of cowardice and being disrespectful.”
When later informed of Xala’s comments, the DA Abroad’s leader Ludre Stevens said, “I told Xolani personally about the event. The ANC was invited, and in fact Xolani left a comment on the event’s Facebook page. We’ve been completely open, and have communicated with all groups. We’re proud of what we achieved, and the ANC were always welcome to join us.”
