Chicco Twala got himself into trouble after he had assaulted a City Power worker. The City Power team arrived North of Johannesburg at Bloubosrand to tend to a power outage.
City Power worker attacked by Chicco Twala
The community had been without electricity since Thursday and City Power showed up to fix the problem on Sunday. While trying to fix the issue Chicco Twala approached one of the workers. That is, in an attempt to stop them from working.
According to IOL, Chicco Twala told the worker that they should leave because he has electricity. It is at this point that he held the worker at gunpoint. He also allegedly corked it, and choked him while on the ground.
City Power makes a case against Chicco
After this, some of the community members helped to assist in the dangerous situation which ultimately led to City Power leaving the area without fixing anything.
Thus far, spokesperson Isaac Mangena gave a statement to IOL to give details about the event.
“Our team, with the assistance of the ward councilor, opened a case against the resident, and we welcome the police’s swift response in acting appropriately against him. It cannot be right that City Power teams are intimidated when doing their job.”
Previously, Chicco’s son Longwe was accused of murdering Senzo Meyiwa. He has since been off the hook as five men are now on trial for his murder. No one has been convicted yet.

In statements given to the police, Longwe claimed that he ran out of the house to get help and couldn’t call the police because he left his phone at his home.
He later shared that his cellphone was in his pocket during an interview. Developments around the murder are still being unpacked. With five men who allegedly murdered Senzo to be tried. Right now, the men are innocent. That is, until they are proven guilty.
