KZN Floods are continuing to worsen as many households have been destroyed and leaving some trapped in their own homes.
Yesterday, two vehicles attempted to cross a flooded road. Only one vehicle made it through with the other left stranded as reported by The Citizen.
KZN Floods cause many to abandon their homes
Right now, many from different communities in KZN are fleeing their homes as their shelter now becomes flooded. Thus far, a woman with her eight-month-old baby had to leave everything behind before becoming trapped inside their home.
Presently, the government has set aside 85 million for the Social Relief and Distress grant for the affected communities in KZN as relayed by News24.
Disaster Management working around the clock
At this time, Disaster management teams are working on saving some people from their homes and have relayed that they are receiving an overwhelming amount of calls in KZN.
These unexpected heavy rains have caused extensive damage to both homes and schools in KZN. Right now, schooling will be interrupted as a result of the severity of the floods.

As the catastrophe unfolds, many services have been disrupted including mobile networks such as MTN. One woman has lost five of her family member so far.
