There is more rain expected in the Western Cape over the weekend – and the South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for the province.
Localised flooding is also expected over the Overberg and southern parts of the Cape Winelands (Western Cape) on Saturday into Sunday morning, said SAWS.
The rain is expected to start at midnight on Friday and continue all the way into Sunday morning. Maximum temperatures will remain in the high-teens and minimums will dip to the low-teens. There is also a chance of fog predicted.

Affected areas include:
- Langeberg / Robertson
- Swellendam
- Cape Agulhas
- Theewaterskloof / Grabouw
- Overstrand (Hermanus, Stanford)
- Stellenbosch
Disruptive rainfall during the first week of May caused extensive damage to the areas listed above. Residents had to be evacuated and businesses, as well as roads, were closed for three days until the water subsided.
Two people died when the vehicle they were in washed away by raging water. Clean up operations are still underway in the affected areas.
