Donations pours in from all corners of the world for abused Daschund Oliver

The Boksburg SPCA are overwhelmed with the support received through donations and well-wishes from people all over the world for little Oliver, an abused Dachshund cross.

In the latest update on Facebook, the SPCA said his chest x-rays came back clear which is great news.

“We’re happy to report that Oliver’s chest x-rays are clear! Little Oli was infested with worms and his red blood cell count is very low. This could be from the worm infestation but blood samples will be sent off to a laboratory in Joburg this afternoon for testing. Oliver is eating well and far more alert than he was yesterday. Let’s just hope those blood tests don’t reveal any underlying problems,” read the post.

They posted a video of Oli, still looking very scared. Those big brown eyes still don’t trust yet – but he is eating well.

Workers at Boksburg SPCA were moved to tears when a man “casually” walked into their building on Tuesday, 10 May and handed them a dog curled up in an old rusty bucket.

Oliver was brought in to the Boksburg SPCA in a rusty bucket.

“There, soaked in car oil, lay a brown, skeletal figure of what looked like a dog. The owner claimed the animal had been sick for a long time. The little cross Dachshund lifted his head and looked up around him,” they said when they rescued him.

Oliver has crept into the hearts of supporters in South Africa, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Zealand the the UK. The SPCA thanked those who donated towards the upkeep of the little doggie who needs love, care, food and medical treatment to recover from his ordeal.

“Breaks my heart how this little champion was abused. But is so deeply loved by thousands of people and great love from u guys.. I salute u all at the SPCA,” said one Facebook user.

“Oh beautiful boy. Your life after this is going to be worthy of your beautiful soul. Your suffering is over. Thank you for the updates Thank you for taking care of him,” said another.
