Robinho and six other men took advantage of a young woman on her 23rd birthday at a club in Milan. This heinous crime dates back to 2013 and Robinho has been appealing his sentence ever since.
Robinho will be carrying out his 9-year sentence
According to the Italian judge, Robinho’s appeal is inadmissible and therefore declined. His sentence is now final.
The former AC Milan soccer player and other men forced the then 23-year-old woman to continuously drink until she was unconscious. The group of men then proceeded to have sexual relations in turns with the woman after she passed out. This all took place during his time playing for AC Milan.
Thus far, only two of the men have been found and are sentenced to nine years in prison. The others have not been found by the Italian police.
No remorse for his wrong-doing
According to ENCA, Television channel, Globo Sports had released excerpts of a recording Italian prosecutors used to secure their conviction, in which the player purportedly says: “I’m laughing because I don’t care. The woman was completely drunk. She doesn’t even know what happened.”
Now, Robinho will not serve his sentence in Italy as he is in Brazil. He will, however, face or rather carry out his sentence in his own country after he lost his court appeal. At this time, Robinho risks being arrested if he travels abroad to another country that has an agreement with Italy.

The downfall of former AC Milan’s career
As reported by Yahoo News, on Robinho’s return to Santos, a sponsor cut ties with the club out of respect for women. His contract was subsequently suspended in less than a week.
Some of the clubs he played for include Machester City, AC Milan, and Real Madrid.
