In the Free State the Police have shown how to do it. They have arrested a 38-year old suspect only hours after an attack on an elderly couple on their farm near Vrede.
Johannes Kritzinger was shot three times in the chest and stomach while his wife Rita was shot once during the attack.
But Police spokesperson Maselela Langa says the suspect was apprehended in Vrede by local detectives between. The suspect was allegedly a former employee at the farm. He is expected to appear in the local Magistrate’s Court this week.
OFM Radion News reports at least one suspect is still at large in the case of attempted murder and robbery.
Meanwhile, Freedom Front Plus leader in the Free State, Jan van Niekerk, says the couple’s children are currently with them at the Netcare Union Hospital in the East Rand. Johannes is in a critical condition while his wife’s condition is serious but stable.
