A stray nanny goat, trying to take a bus to Cape Town International Airport has been stopped in its tracks and is now up for adoption.
You can’t blame the goat for trying to make a run for it, especially after this week, when the nation is on edge because of all the violence.
The goat was intercepted by the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa (AWS) at the My Citi Bus Shelter at the Cape Town International Airport.
AWS were called to the scene to assist the animal who seemed disorientated and in need of some help.
“When AWS SA Senior Inspector Mark Levendal arrived on the scene he noticed the goat casually starring out of the bus terminus window. After manoeuvring her into a corner and placing a lead around her neck, she willingly followed him to his vehicle and jumped up into the load bay,” said AWS in a Facebook post.
Levendal says she is very friendly which makes him believe she is part of a herd near the N2 verge. If your herd is missing a goat, she is in good condition and probably wants to go home – so get in touch with AWS on 021 692 2626.
“She is now formally impounded and if no-one comes forward to claim her she will be put up for adoption.”
