“We have the docket for a decision,” NPA Western Cape spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila told a website in South Africa. Meanwhile Marli will undergo treatment to assist in her rehabilitation, Netwerk24’s Samantha van den Berg reported. The report also states that Marli left Vergelegen Medi-Clinic in Somerset West on Saturday already.

Advocate Martin Coetzee, who represents her, said the family does not want to reveal the name of the rehabilitationcentre where she is being treated. This is to ensure that her recovery takeplace without disruptions.

The Van Breda family was attacked in their home in the De Zalze Golf Estate, Stellenbosch, in January. Marli and her 20-year-old brother Henri survived the attack. Their parents Martin, 55, Theresa, 54, and older brother Rudi, 22, were killed.

Coetzee said Marli’s health has improved considerably. She can talk, but not for long, She has not yet been able to make a complete police statement.

Although no arrests have been made, police have handed the murder docket to the National Prosecuting Authority for a decision.

Meanwhile the Sunday Times reported that police are investigating a number of possible motives, including one that Henri’s parents reportedly cut off his allowance because he might have been a drug addict. The newspaper said a man claims to have been Henri’s drug runner.
