Oliver is well on his way to recovery thanks to the love and care of the Boksburg SPCA and generous sponsors from all over the world.
Oli, the brown-eyed Dachshund-cross, crept into the hearts of many after he was surrendered by his owner two weeks ago. He arrived at the Boksburg SPCA in a rusty bucket soaked in oil, under nourished, full of worms and terrified of humans.
The SPCA took him into their care and are slowly but surely loving him back to health. They share updates regularly on his progress and this week he is doing really well. Even though Oliver is still under weight, he is eating well and trotting around now.
“Just look at this little guy and how far he’s come. Oli knows his way around the Boksburg SPCA now and loves going outside for his morning walks. He’s on his way to a good recovery!” said the SPCA on their Facebook page.
In an unexpected turn of events, last week Oliver’s owner surrendered his brother Huckleberry – who is in a far better condition than Oli. The SPCA says he doesn’t have any serious health issues other than worms and his distrust of people. The two have been reunited and are being given the best care.
